Risen GoldenShield 3.0: AI-Powered Energy Management for Smarter C&I Solar and Storage

As C&I energy systems expand from standalone storage to solar-plus-storage, solar-storage-charging and microgrid applications, site operations are becoming increasingly complex.
More devices and communication protocols must be integrated, while operators also need to manage time-of-use tariffs, demand limits, grid interaction and energy market participation. Traditional systems based on manual configuration and a single control strategy can no longer balance safety, efficiency and asset value.
To address these challenges, Risen Energy has launched GoldenShield 3.0, its latest self-developed energy management system. By combining intelligent local control with the Risen Cloud platform, GoldenShield 3.0 connects equipment management, predictive O&M and energy market operations within one system.
01 Faster Deployment and Stronger Local Control
GoldenShield 3.0 features a quad-core 64-bit processor, 4 GB of memory, 64 GB of storage and seven integrated Ethernet switching ports. It can operate from −40°C to 75°C and at relative humidity levels of up to 95%, supporting multi-device connectivity and complex control tasks.
The system is designed for C&I storage, solar-plus-storage, solar-storage-charging and microgrid applications. Up to 50 GoldenShield 3.0 units can operate under a single transformer. An optional low-voltage distribution network management function can also help address three-phase imbalance, voltage excursions and transformer overload.
Through a unified remote configuration interface, operators can manage equipment parameters, network settings and control logic, reducing new-site configuration time from approximately eight hours to around 30 minutes. Integrated Ethernet switching can also reduce the need for external switches, cabling and installation work.
02 AI-Enabled Site Management
Equipment from different manufacturers often uses different communication protocols, making integration and testing time-consuming. Based on a “large platform plus micro-applications” architecture, GoldenShield 3.0 standardizes data from PCSs, BMSs, meters, PV inverters and other devices. AI-assisted identification and adaptive onboarding improve compatibility across different brands and models.
The system centrally monitors storage, PV, metering, fire protection and auxiliary equipment. It also stores operating data, event logs and alarm records for historical analysis and trend tracking.
GoldenShield 3.0 supports total power control, subsystem control, PV-priority operation, dynamic capacity expansion and demand response. For sites with multiple metering points and time-of-use requirements, it provides advanced anti-backflow and overload protection, supporting up to three meters and 10 control strategies for each meter.
These capabilities create a closed loop from device onboarding and site-wide monitoring to local strategy execution, while providing standardized data for cloud-based analysis.
03 From Predictive O&M to Energy Trading
Once connected to Risen Cloud, GoldenShield 3.0 extends AI capabilities into operational analytics, risk alerts and energy operations.
Cloud-based AI analyzes real-time and historical data, including cell-voltage consistency, temperature changes and battery health. It can monitor assets at the regional, site, equipment and cell levels, and locate abnormalities at the system, battery-cluster, module or cell level.
When a potential issue is detected, Risen Cloud can reference an expert knowledge base, generate inspection or maintenance tasks, and manage the full work-order process. Operators can also handle alarms, remotely start or stop equipment, and perform software upgrades through desktop or mobile applications.
For projects eligible to participate in local electricity markets, Risen Cloud combines load data, BESS status and available flexibility with electricity price and market information. AI-based load and price forecasting helps identify price spreads and trading opportunities, while conservative, balanced or more aggressive strategies can be recommended for different risk profiles.
The platform can also monitor medium- and long-term and spot-market positions, load deviations and rebalancing costs. Market monitoring, risk alerts and post-trade analysis help operators adjust bids and dispatch strategies, reduce imbalance exposure and unlock additional value from demand response and electricity trading.
04 Validated in Solar-Plus-Storage Projects
At the Ruoqiang solar-plus-storage project, two integrated BESS cabinets operate with a 400 kWp PV system. The storage system has a capacity of 522 kWh and a rated power of 250 kW. Compared with GoldenShield 2.0, site setup and commissioning time was reduced by 20%, while strategy configuration and deployment time was reduced by 50%.
At the Dezhou Guoning project, three integrated BESS cabinets operate in a multi-controller cascade with a 968.76 kWp PV system. The 783 kWh/375 kW storage system uses the integrated Ethernet switching capability of GoldenShield 3.0, eliminating the need for an additional network switch.
As of August 29, 2026, both projects had achieved 100% control-strategy execution accuracy, validating GoldenShield 3.0 in local control, multi-device coordination and project delivery.
By connecting reliable local control with cloud-based AI and energy market capabilities, GoldenShield 3.0 helps C&I customers manage increasingly complex energy systems and improve the operational value of their energy assets.
